Does Medifast Make A Good Christmas Gift?

I make no secret of my being on this diet in my office or with my friends. Since we’re in the holiday or Christmas season, I had one coworker ask me if medifast makes a good gift, or does giving it imply that you think the recipient needs to lose weight and will therefore offend them? I’ll try to answer this question (at least from my point of view) in this article.
I actually started this diet when my sister gave me a month’s worth of meals / 4 week package as a gift. To be fair, I had been researching this diet for some time and my sister knew this. She and I have been on diets together off and on throughout the years. So she knew that my health / weight loss was important to me, but was also something that had been elusive. I was not offended by this gift. My sister knows me well and knew that I would’ve probably forked out the money myself had she not gifted me with it, but this gave me the nudge that I needed. Many pounds later, I’m obviously very grateful. Plus, I know how much this plan costs and I know that this is a generous gift, which I very much appreciated.
So, in cases where you know the recipient very well and you know that they will probably buy these products with or without you, this can be a very generous gift that is much appreciated. And, if someone has specifically told you that they would like medifast as a gift, then by all means, take them at their word.
In cases where you know that they are thinking about or researching the plan, a good idea can be buying the products individually to give them just enough to sample to see if they like the food. An example would be a case of shakes or a few boxes of the protein bars.
But, I could see people getting in trouble if the recipient was a your girlfriend or someone that you have just begun dating who has not mentioned this diet to you. In that case, you may offend them because they haven’t specifically expressed their interest, and they could misinterpret your implying something that they haven’t opened up on their own.
Medifast makes a generous gift, but I don’t think you should pay full price for it. The Indian wedding’s are obnoxiously huge with a lot of band, baaja and baarat. The gold too is not left far behind. Infact this is one occasion where people tend to flaunt their gold, diamonds and even silver jewellery. It is indeed an excuse where the young and the old look into jewellery boxes to dish out the most expensive and biggest jewellery that will draw everyone’s attention.
It is understood that making up your mind to decide what you really want to wear to that big fat Indian wedding can be literally mind boggling and complex.
Every Indian family loves stacking up on jewellery; it could be gold, silver or even diamonds and pearls. Everyone has atleast one precious metal that they can boost off. Most of us adorn the heaviest of gold jewellery irrespective of it is matches our outfit. Ideally just like any other occasion, the rule you need to follow is that your jewellery compliments and matches your outfit. If you are planning on wearing traditional clothes like lehngas and saris then Gold and Diamond jewellery is a good choice. If its western attire you’ve chosen to wear then you can choose pearls, silver or cute looking jewellery made of gold.
Not all of your jewellery will go with every outfit in your wardrobe. There are some which can be a complete misfit, while the others can be very versatile. You therefore need to wear jewellery that matches your clothes if you want to steal the show. Western clothes for example work well with jewellery that is small and very contemporary in design. On the other hand saris that are heavily embroidered look good in small intricately designed diamond jewellery. If you choose traditional Kanjeevaram, Maheshwari, Benarasi, or even the simple silk sari from Kerala then heavy gold jewellery is a good choice.
Gold Jewellery that has a few precious stones encrusted on it make an elaborate look with any kind of traditional Indian sari or outfit.
However views on wearing traditional Indian saris are quickly changing. An age old myth where every Indian family thought it to be auspicious to wear gold jewellery is now changing. People today prefer artificial jewellery or one gram gold jewellery that is not very expensive as gold, but looks and feels like it. Another advantage is that you can buy as much as you want, in different designs and still not feel the pinch. Most of these artificial jewellery also come fitted with American diamonds that looks like real stones.
Another reason for this change to occur is that gold and silver prices are only soaring and are at its peak today. This is one reason why gold jewellers prefer selling artificial jewellery and have reduced stocking up on pure gold jewellery.
To conclude, since imitation jewellery looks and feels exactly like the real thing, it is definitely a good option. However if you can afford gold, silver and diamonds then you can take the plunge, after all it is worth its weight in money.

Shopping for gifts for people based on their personality type is not that new of an idea and may be something that you consider when you’re looking for great gift ideas for men. If you’ve never considering an individual’s personality when shopping for a gift for them – perhaps it’s time that you do. The reasons for shopping for people based on their personality type are fairly evident, and the end result is that you have a much better chance of buying them a gift that they enjoy and use. For example, if your father is not a techie type of guy, then he probably won’t enjoy receiving the newest technological gadget for Christmas, no matter how neat it is. Conversely, your cousin who loves to do outdoor activities will probably appreciate a new piece of camping gear for the holidays. In this article, I’d like to explore some great gift ideas for men that are gift experiences and provide recommendations for experience gifts for men based on a few personality types.
The Creative: If he’s a creative thinker, has artistic talents, enjoys music, or has a free spirited outlook on life, there are several unique and creative experience gifts that will be perfect for him. Things like glassblowing, pottery, art lessons, music lessons, and photography lesson approach his creativity literally while things like guided hikes, kayak tours, or even extreme experiences like skydiving can be an inspiration of creativity for him.
The Outdoorsman: If he enjoys a night in a tent more than one in a king sized bed in a 5 star hotel, then you’re in luck because there are hundreds of gift experiences that appeal to the outdoorsman. If there’s a specific type of outdoor activity that he’d like some professional instruction about – like rock climbing, sea kayaking, mountaineering, surfing, etc – then you can send him off for some lessons. If he already knows what he enjoys then there are several guided tours that he’ll enjoy where he’ll get to do an activity he loves without having to deal with planning all the details.
The Guy’s Guy: If you’re shopping for a guy’s guy – someone that enjoys watching sports, playing with gadgets, and spending his free time perfecting his grilling technique then I suggest gift experiences like the Nascar Driving Experience where he gets to race a Nascar-style stock car around a race track at speeds over 150 mph. Or, perhaps he would enjoy some cooking classes that focus on BBQ, a beer tasting tour, or something adventurous like paragliding.
The Cultured Intellectual: These men enjoy a deep conversation and cultured activities. While they may enjoy something like a scenic helicopter tour of the city, chances are that they’ll be much more impressed if you give them an experience gift where they can learn something or be challenged intellectually. Gift experiences like wine tasting tours, cooking classes, historical or architectural tours of the city, or even an intellectual scavenger hunt a la “The Divinci Code” make great gifts.
Of course, these are only a few examples of how well experience gifts can cater to specific personality types. If you’re serious about getting the special men in your life a gift that they will love then you should look for experience gifts that correlate well with their personality and interests. After all, what better gift could there be than to make their dreams come true in a way that they never expected?
